Nationality - Greek

First Degree - I have a degree in Environmental Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. I have also attended seminars in Greece about green-sustainable buildings and ecologically friendly design. I am very interested in renewable energy supply, wastes and water management in order to improve the performance of existing buildings and minimise the environmental impacts.

Personal Comments - I really enjoyed working on this project because in my opinion today’s buildings, energy and the environment have become some of the key issues. Hotels are consuming significant amounts of energy and water. Our aim is to help hotels to protect and sustain the environment and limit consumption of resources. We used Jury’s Inn hotel as the case study to share their innovative ideas to improve the performance of the hotel. The study of performance for hotel buildings is very important in my opinion. Firstly, it can help hotels owners to understand the energy and water consumption situation and to identify any operational problems that may cause inefficient energy use. Secondly, operating staff in the hotels can be trained so that they are able to run hotels more efficiently. And finally, can help hotels to set priority for future investigation to achieve greatest energy and water saving even by using renewable technologies.
